I am excited about the clean lines and fitted appearance this door provides! Previously had a barn door & track on this door opening and this new door fits much closer to the actual door opening. Plus, the entire rolling mechanism is concealed inside of the track which is recessed inside the back of the door. This also means that it fits much closer to the wall, giving it a cleaner appearance. As you can see from photos, we did remove some wood trim so the door could fit tight to the wall. So there are wall repairs in my future, but I am ok with that. Also still need to install the GORGEOUS long black metal handle provided with door, but I am waiting to paint first. The door comes with a painted flat white finish. I am painting walls & door the same color, so it will really blend into the background. Love love love these doors. Used them between the master bedroom and master bath. They look great and the frosted glass lets in some light while providing privacy. It was a bit of work for our contractor to set the hardware as the doors are are not prepped for that but we knew that from previous reviews Even with that our local building supply store wanted 3000 for a “custom” door of this design. Doors are SOLID and heavy. Very happy with quality for the price. A couple of corners were damaged during shipping. Mostly a cosmetic issue. But both Wayfair and the manufacture worked with us to find a solution. Overall very pleased. We specifically liked that these are already painted, so it was one less thing we needed to worry about right now. Sturdy door and nice quality - the weight of it makes it seem like a pricier door. It is solid but with the mdf outer- well let’s just say be careful your contractor doesn’t place it in a place with standing water. The good news is the swelling that occurs dries out but you have to let it sit for days. The other thing is the primer on it is super glossy and even after sanding isn’t the easiest to paint. EightDoor’s 1 Lite shaker profile door perfectly matches and complements the shaker panel door family which we have available in different designs and sizes. This solid wood door is made from planted forest trees by FSC regulations, being an environmentally friendly product. For a great and smooth finish, MDF veneer is used on the faces with 3 coats of white primer so you can add the finish of your choice to offer a bit more protection to the wood to last for years to come. The tempered clear glass allows light to brighten your home, saving energy. This door is meant for interior use and has a trimming allowance of 1/4 in. on each side and 1 inch on the bottom. Please note that trimming will damage the finish or the primer, so any edge that was trimmed must be sealed or painted to protect it from moisture.
