These beautiful chairs (in Vintage Tekwood) arrived carefully packaged and fully assembled. (The large carton is on the heavy side.) They chairs are light weight and stack easily, but they are very sturdily constructed. The chair seats are very comfortable as is and even more so with cushions -- the seats accommodate my existing cushions. The chair backs are a bit more upright than I had hoped, but they will be perfect for dining. If you are seeking chairs for reading / lounging, you might want something with a bit more slant or recline to the back. I also bought the 47" dining table (in Vintage Tekwood) to go with these chairs. The set was scheduled to be delivered on Monday, but arrived on Friday. I am a very happy customer. Spent a long time looking for a teak patio dining set, and this is perfect for our small-ish patio. Comfortably seats four people, and while it took a little while to put together, looks and feels great. Very solid. There is an umbrella hole, but we chose to go with a cantilever umbrella off to the side (you need at least a 10-foot cantilever umbrella to give enough shade over the table and chairs).. Mj. MA.
