These beautiful chairs (in Vintage Tekwood) arrived carefully packaged and fully assembled. (The large carton is on the heavy side.) They chairs are light weight and stack easily, but they are very sturdily constructed. The chair seats are very comfortable as is and even more so with cushions -- the seats accommodate my existing cushions. The chair backs are a bit more upright than I had hoped, but they will be perfect for dining. If you are seeking chairs for reading / lounging, you might want something with a bit more slant or recline to the back. I also bought the 47" dining table (in Vintage Tekwood) to go with these chairs. The set was scheduled to be delivered on Monday, but arrived on Friday. I am a very happy customer. Kay Bojesen designed these two happy skiers towards the end of the 1940s. The happy girl skier with the red cheeks and big smile is called Datti, which was the pet-name of Kay Bojesen's daughter-in-law Ruth (married to Otto). The name of the male skier, boje, was the pet-name of Bojesen's son Otto. The original wooden figures are very rare, as they were only produced in small series. With their cheerful expressions, this pair of skiers always make people smile, and they are all set to conquer Danish living rooms and homes again in this relaunch. Both skiers are made of painted beech in the same way as the Royal Guardsman. The skiers stand 6.1" tall.
