The unit works very well. It cools quickly, and it's not too loud, for a portable AC. It's even smaller than the old one it replaced. I"m very satisfied with it. I took out a star for the delivery; it was quick, but they must have dumped the box from a moving truck. One of the panels in the installation kit that goes on the window arrived broken. The AC itself turned out to be undamaged, and I was able to install it without the broken panel. Wayfair offered me a partial refund and everything was OK. It is recommended that you wait 24 hours to turn your unit on after it arrives. I went against that recommendation because it was absolutely sweltering in my studio space that had nothing but a fan. I purchased two of these bad boys to cover 1030 ft.² of open space with 18ft ceilings. I met FedEx AT THE DOOR! And they brought them in for me and set each unit at each window I wanted them to be placed. So delivery was smooth and easy. The installation instructions were easy to understand and the units took no more than 10 minutes each to be installed. NOTE: you will need some weather tape to seal off some gaps, but that’s to be expected. It was likely about 90° in my space before I turned them on and these had me feeling much cooler and more comfortable within about 30 minutes (run on medium at 68°) and after about an hour and a half, I didn’t feel the need to run them on medium anymore. They’re pretty quiet on the low fan cool setting, but of course they are louder on medium and high but nothing that will disturb my peace in my studio. having a window AC unit is not the prettiest thing so I can’t speak to aesthetics but I’m very happy with these —my problem has been solved.. There are some good features to this air conditioner. It is lightweight and easy to carry and install into the window. It has several modes and the lowest setting makes very little noise. The "quiet" setting is very quiet. It doesn't give the cold cooling feeling that old air conditioners do and feels more like a central air conditioning system. My windows are non standard wide so I had to adjust the installation recommendations. I am overjoyed this replacement unit seems to work! The temperature hasn't soared yet, so I'll wait until it does to give a proper assessment. At first glance of the packaging though, I felt I was getting a working unit. Box was clean and inside was brand new. There were no dents on the uniot like the first one. Relatively sleek looking unit but this requires professional installation which is key! Planning to install in my kids' rooms just in time for the summer. Also, great that this is a split unit that can also heat in the winter - years ago, we had another pump that wouldn't heat if the temp <31 degrees F, making it pointless.
