Since our rain barrels are made of High-Density Polyethylene Plastic they can be left outdoors even in the winter months so there is no need to modify your downspouts in the Spring and Fall. The exact shape of the barrels may vary due to availability but the color and size remain true. Because these barrels were originally used to transport food, there may be residual food product odor. The residual odor will dissipate after a few full barrel-filling cycles. We use a pH-balanced, environmentally friendly soap when cleaning so that the water gathered can immediately be used on plants without harm. These barrels keep difficult to break down plastics from adding bulk to landfills and also contain and repurpose stormwater.

Neatly packaged. Easy to assemble if you pay close attention to the instructions. It took me about 2 hrs total. It’s quite large as expected and there was one point where an assistant was helpful but not critical. Color is gorgeous. This is being used as an indoor enclosure for my juvenile Sulcata tortoise. Gardening in my 70’s finds me preferring a sit down, roll along option and this cart fit the bill, especially since I am trying to avoid purchasing more plastic to add to my household. Assembly was pretty basic- but I did need a 10 mm socket wrench, a large Phillips screwdriver, and a strong clamp as there was not an extra pair of hands around. The instructions were a tad quirky as I was warned against sitting or standing on it, multiple cautions about letting children anywhere near the unit, and the message that I would not be provided with any technological or electronic updates. Once I ignored those instructions I have enjoyed using it as both seat and wagon. It is quite sturdy and I appreciate the pneumatic tires.
