Because they are going on a second floor ceiling, which is vaulted and might be 24 feet high. We have to have our electricians come out to install these. Otherwise it would be very easy for my husband to install these if it was only on a regular height ceiling. We really love the look of these. I have a cabinet at one end of my sliding door so couldnt use a pole for curtains. This is the ideal solution. It did not come with instructions but very easy to understand. Parts are labeled nicely. It can attach to the wall or the ceiling which is awesome. It is adjustable in length. Come with multiple bars that can be added to your desired length. The roller in the bar glide so easily back and forth. They included three different hanging clips for different style curtains.
