Some modification was made with the screw connection because we installed in vertically, not horizontally as shown in the pictures. Product was very well made and thus modification was possible. These curtain rods just arrived and look great in our living room with our new curtains! The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the rod is a little cheaper looking than the beautiful finials. Obviously not a deal breaker, since the rod is mostly covered anyway. And just a note, the metallic highlights on the cocoa color are more golden. In the photos, they looked reddish brown/coppery. Still a gorgeous finial and still worked in my room.
