Update: Even though I initially thought this was the perfect rug, it is definitely not for high traffic areas. I had it in my living room - It's just my husband and I. It has matted terribly. I need to order something that doesn't have any pile. I ordered this quite a while ago and haven't unrolled it to see what it actually looked like - I was just trusting that it was going to look good on our new LVP (Luxury Vinal Planking) flooring. It was finally installed two days. After cleaning the floor, my husband unrolled the rug. With great anticipation, I waited to see what it looked like. It is absolutely more beautiful than I ever imagined. It had a little bit of curled edges; however, my husband turned them the opposite way to try to uncurl them and it ended up laying nicely. The colors are beautiful - cream, gray and dark brown. It matches in my living room beautifully. My couch and chair are darker gray, my lamps are light gray, my floor is oak and most of my furniture is oak. I also just purchased a picture that goes with it all. The rug has a little low shag. I was very excited to finally order this rug for my new family room after admiring it for months. It really is a beautiful piece and I love the unique combination of neutral colors. It goes well with my modern farmhouse style. With that said, there weren’t many reviews when I purchased it so I knew I was taking a gamble. One of the few existing reviews did mention that it was easily pulled by pet paws and I do see that being an issue down the road. It actually came with several loose spots (examples included in photos). It doesn’t take away from the look, but does make me nervous regarding how it will hold up in our family room. This rug is stunning and has been a perfect addition to my media room/basement — though it would look equally great in a dining room, living room, or family room. Don't let the Wayfair images fool you; photos don't do justice to the intricate details and rich colors. You really need to see it in your own space to fully appreciate it. The rug is incredibly soft and lays completely flat right out of the box. We're considering adding a pad underneath for extra comfort when sitting on the floor and for added noise absorption in our media room — but that's purely a bonus, not a necessity. I waited til after having rug for a while before providing a review. All in all I am very pleased. It looks just as pictured.....very rich in color! I especially like the varying types of weave used to create different patterns and textures all of which are soft to the touch. While the rug does have volume, the only negative is that it's not as dense as I would have liked. The picture gives that impression.
