I was surprised that these bulbs are actually plastic. But that just means they don’t heat up like the old flood lights. I had turned the kitchen lights on for about 15 seconds right after my husband put in one bulb and then shut them off. Then he moved the ladder to move to remove next old bulb, and it was so hot he could barely touch it! My kitchen always seemed to get really hot when I am cooking, and now I know why. You could fry and egg on those old flood light bulbs! Plus, I am sure they were electricity gobblers. Should have replaced them long ago.
