This is a gorgeous rug for what I believe is an awesome price. In the pictures it looks like it almost has a shag to it- it doesn’t, it’s totally flat. The quasi-shag look comes from light brown specs on the rug. It’s really a pretty rug. Only gave 4 stars because I just got it and want to see how it holds up. It is also very soft. Great quality runner, easy to install (did it myself). Used heavy duty cutting shears to cut where needed, the only downside is when you cut it does start to fray. Where edge is going to be hidden you are able to fold over and hide edge however, it can become a bit bulky so keep that in mind. On cut edges that you cannot hide I chose an edging roll of fabric from craft store and glued it on both sides to make a completed edge. It’s both good and bad that it has a stretch to it, so it has some give when installing but over time I’m sure on the stairs it will stretch and sag.
