Great knife set! Really happy with the purchase. We are trying very hard not to put them in the dishwasher but occasionally one gets by us and our kids do it, however the knives have held up! The scissors are a great extra. The other thing I love not only about the knives but the block they rest in doesn’t take up much counter space and the color is beautiful. It’s a good, high quality knife overall, but I have other knives in the under $100 range that are comparable or better. So while it’s a good product, I am not convinced it has the best value proposition. Pros: very sharp; nice weight on the handle - pretty much the opposite of flimsy; great size knife for everyday cooking - does a perfect job of chopping veggies, cutting meats and chicken. Appears to be high quality that will last over time although seeing as I’ve only had it for a few weeks, I can’t comment on longevity yet. Cons: just after a few weeks of very light use, the knife did not pass the tomato test - it was very tough to cut through even cherry tomatoes. I purchased this item (Viking 4QT Pot) for $120 (before tax and shipping). It was on sale, and I think I got a great deal. It's exactly the right size, and the nonstick coating is fantastic.
