These downrods by Fanimation are available in multiple finishes and lengths and will fit many installation needs. Recommended downrod length is based on ceiling height, with an ideal distance from floor to fan blades being 7 to 9 feet. Downrods can be joined together using a downrod coupler for extended lengths.

So far so good. Install was relatively easy, but because of its size, having a few extra folks to help hold it in place would be a good idea. My wife and I managed, but it was a bit tricky for just us 2 folks to install and we almost gave up. The gesture control seems a bit finicky, and we can't get it to work reliably. Maybe with time we'll figure it out. The buttons work fine though, and the remote control is a nice touch. The stainless-steel finish, display, and led lights look great. Definitely an upgrade from the Broan powerpack it replaced. As far as noise, it seems to be as loud as our old Broan PM350 we replaced. The grates tend to vibrate a little, so that with the fan contributes to the noise. I was hoping for something quieter, but it's no worse than the unit it replaced, so not a deal breaker. As for airflow, it seems a bit stronger than the broan unit it replaced, which was rate for only 350cfm. This one is rated at 900cfm at max speed, but i don't have a way to measure/confirm that. The fan cage seems bigger, and it's been doing a good job so far of keeping the smells/vapors out of the kitchen while cooking. There was an internal part that was broken. Ensure if purchasing this item, remove all adapters etc to inspect every available part. The water inlet piece was broken but not discovered until it was installed and found to leak as there was an adapter on it that we had no reason to remove until it leaked. Wayfairs warranty period was already expired but the manufacturer stayed in contact with us and sent out a replacement heater resolving our issue. Looking forward to many months of swimming! We were remodeling our kitchen and had bought another hood that was delayed. We decided to purchase this hood and changed our design to fit this hood. We have had it for two week and so far it works great and like the option of taking off the filters putting them in the dishwasher to clean them. This hood is much quieter than our previous hood..
