I looked long and hard for a duct cover that would hide the off center ducting I had because of a new range installation. I need something large enough to span the ducting and create the illusion of being on center if the new 36” range. The cover is heavier gauge stainless steel, thinking it is at least 18 gauge. It will not dent easily and looks like a professional, quality range hood. I have to figure out how to attach it as it is made specifically for Zephyr brand range hoods and came with no additional mounting hardware. There are many pros about this range hood. First, it’s heavy duty - far heavier and sturdier than my previous one. Second, it’s all metal, even the filters, and includes a grease trap, which is a big bonus feature. The fan levels are great and it’s much quieter than our previous hood but definitely powerful. So far we are loving this upgrade. We did not use the vent hose it came with but bought an all metal one at our local home store for better greasefire protection. I will say the directions are somewhat lacking, however, if the person installing it knows what they’re doing, it shouldn’t be a problem. We haven’t fully installed this range hood insert yet, but first impressions are excellent. The build quality feels solid and well-made, with a sleek, modern look that fits nicely with our kitchen design. The controls are intuitive and the lighting is a great added touch. We did a quick test run before installation, and it’s impressively quiet—much quieter than expected for the amount of airflow it produces. It seems like it will do a great job ventilating while still keeping noise to a minimum, which was a big priority for us. Overall, very happy so far and excited to get it fully installed and in use.
