This is definitely a statement piece! Very nice weight and finish. However, be aware, the length in NOT adjustable, even by a professional installer (mine refused to mess with it lol). Our ceiling was too low, so he had to cut a large hole in the ceiling and hide about 10 inches of the rod inside the ceiling, and insulate it accordingly (roof rafters above). This product imparts a greater gloss than Marmoleum has out of the box. I'd call it satin. We like the shine. Since it is a Forbo product it should be the most compatible treatment available. The instructions say it both cleans and shines though it makes sense to thoroughly sweep then clean the floor with mild detergent and water or the Forbo cleaner first.
