Durability is there but I would be hesitant to overload it with anything too heavy. Tolerances are slightly off between the individual shelves and the sides of the bookcase causing a bit of a gap to be present between the two edges. Also there isn't a lot of room for error when installing the back panel. The panel and its screw holes needs to be aligned near perfectly center, otherwise the screws will damage and shear the edges of the side panels off due to how thin the side walls are.. Josh Taing.
