Be prepared for assembly. You'll need the following: spray dish soap for lubrication, a rubber mallet and a phillips-head screwdriver. Fortunately, it's only four screws, the rest is like putting together a Lego set. It just takes some serious pounding with the rubber mallet to get the pieces to go together, and I mean serious pounding. Just fair warning. The dish soap helps to get things going. Quite pleased with these steps. They aren't the most fashionable, but the size is great and the storage within is ample and secure, provided you close the lids tightly. Assembly was easy enough, just follow the directions and don't make the mistake I did, which was neglecting to slide 2 of the end pieces to the back before attaching it all (got distracted, it's an important step). The cabinets in the new kitchen are quite tall, so a new step stool was needed. There is a narrow space that's perfect for storing the stool. The listing on Wayfair showed the dimensions of the stool while open, but not when folded for storage. I took a chance and ordered it, and while I am very happy with the sturdy, easy to use stool, it does not fit in the storage space.
