These shelves are beautiful wood and are pretty deep. I love the color as well. I wanted something to put plants on and they are solid holding a lot of weight. I had a bit of trouble putting them up because the studs in my wall weren't spaced right they were to far apart to hit two studs. I ended up using one stud and 4 drywall anchors. These thick and sturdy shelves are also available in our Coffee Bean stain and White Wash finish. All marks, knots, cracks, and holes are naturally occurring. With our Natural variation not being stained, the cut ends may be slightly lighter than the rest of the shelf, as cutting exposes the fresh, untouched wood. This adds a lovely contrast to the aging of the rest of the wood and accentuates the character making for a stunning display on your wall! The wood is reclaimed barn rafter and has all of the characteristics that you would expect from reclaimed barn wood! Our natural variation shelves are not stained and the color can vary from piece to piece. Thick and sturdy with handmade raw metal brackets, these shelves make a stunning display on your wall! Please note that the brackets MUST be mounted into wall studs. ALL mounting hardware is included. Shelves come with set screws that go up throughout the bracket into the bottom of the shelf to eliminate any movement due to any imperfections in the reclaimed wood. Available in 24", 36" and 48" wide x 11" deep x 2" thick.

I LOVE these shelves. They’re sturdy and can hold a good amount of weight, and they look rustic and rich. The wood has the perfect amount of imperfection with a couple dips and knots. This amazing set of 2 reclaimed barn wood shelves is handcrafted in Lancaster County, PA, by our local Amish artisan partners. Our natural shelves are not stained, and the character and color will vary slightly from piece to piece. These thick and sturdy shelves are also available in our coffee bean stain and white wash finish. All marks, knots, cracks, and holes are naturally occurring. With our natural variation not being stained, the cut ends may be slightly lighter than the rest of the shelf, as cutting exposes the fresh, untouched wood. This adds a lovely contrast to the aging of the rest of the wood and accentuates the character that makes for a stunning display on your wall.

The wood was not the same shade as pictured. It also comes very “rustic” i.e. rough. You may get a few splinters when handling, so be careful. Also due to the rustic nature the boards are not exactly straight. This can make them appear a bit uneven on the wall. None of these were deal breakers for me. It is a good size in thickness.
