Hanging was not the usual flat ceiling, i hung it on a vaulted ceiling in my garage, had to make a pitched board to compensate for this. Worked out well. I absolutely love these Wire Shelf covers. But I have to be honest. One of the Five PVC covers broke apart very easily. As advertised! I used two of them in original condition and they fit well immediately. I used two more (and possibly a third) after cutting a couple of inches off the back. The cuts are very clean and look like they were cut like that from the beginning. The anti-slip surface grips particularly well with heavier objects.
