I love these dishes. They’re heavy. The glazing is beautiful. And I love the little pedestal on the bowls. I didn’t get the mugs because I don’t need mugs. But this really elevates the appearance of my table… Unfortunately, I don’t have a photo yet. I’ll add one later. This is a really elegant set of high-quality dishes. Creamy white with a brilliant sheen and weighty enough to feel substantial. They're beautiful to look at and to touch. Artesano plates sport only a miter cut edge, which makes the edge both wider and more interesting than a rounded edge. It also makes the plates look heavier than they actually are. The rice bowls are 1/4" thick, matching the plate edge and are perfectly plain. The pasta bowl is slightly thinner and has the same mitered edge. Like a diamond solitaire, this design is absolutely beautiful in its simplicity. TWO YEARS LATER: Still love the dishes, and they remain in perfect condition. Excellent purchase. Why did I choose this? I had bought accent pieces of hand-painted Polish pottery and needed basic service that would complement it, not compete. I couldn't find cream colored pottery that did what I needed, and so I went with porcelain, though the two don't normally pair.
