Today I got the package for silk lampshade. I have 7 orient lamps all with silk shades. The one I got early 2001 with beige scalloped shade with plastic lining until it turned brown and cracked. I have bought a small silk lampshade at lamp shop before. It was over $100 and now I am retired. I need a new shade so badly and I tried Wayfair and looked carefully with sizes. It’s affordable. Got the shade and touched carefully. The fabric is really silk! So I placed on the lamp. Sides was correct 12 inches. The bottom and top was 1.5 inches short. This was an experience. First, I couldn’t clear the utility lines at my house but my friend’s deck was perfect. We started out confident, but it didn’t last. The wrenching apparatus was our downfall. In the end we decided to forgo the winch process and hung it only using the locking mechanisms. The sail is great. It feels strong yet pliable and it’s the perfect shade of summer red. Also, my home is fully automated with Alexa control. I have two universal RF hubs (Bond Bridge Pro and Toyanc IRRF transmitter) for home automation, and for some reason, both accepted the programming frequency of the remote (433.92 MHz), but neither would transmit the right codes. this is a replacement for an older shade. Found the eyelets to be superior in this Royal unit but have not had time to install but from inspection the stitching is the key.
