The telescoping rail system is a great benefit. We have not yet unpacked the individual panels as we are waiting a remodel to be complete first. We are for certain going to have to shorten the panels; if this is a bad experience I will come back after 4/10 and update the review along with appropriate star reduction. So far, so good.. Laurel. I bought this bay window set so that I wouldn't have to buy three separate rods and so that it would have a clean look across my window. There is no space above the window to hang the rods, they must be on the side of the window. Because of that, I was unable to hang the supports far enough apart to use the joint on the front rod. So I ended up having to hang them separately resulting in an unfinished look since there is no cap for the interior parts of the rods. I would not have purchased this rod or the matching ones for my other windows if I had realized this. The brackets are too deep in my opinion. The very large screw hole in the bracket leaves little space to install the lower screw. They are also not high quality, with a seam that runs down the entire rod. I would not purchase again.. So far we are very pleased. We still have to cut the length but it seems pretty straight forth. The color is just what we wanted. You can leave the top track and rod as is but I think we will be adding surround of some type. They do a great job filtering light and are so much more stylish than the others we had.
