Super easy to assemble, (I even cut the tie off that was clearly marked DO NOT CUT), but it worked out fine. This gate is very strong and well made, looks nice, and is very easy to open. Couldn't be happier. NOTE: I was not able to install this where I originally wanted, one wall was slanted on a 45 degree and the other was square. The way it looks to me you need a flat surface for the pressure mounts to work properly on a flat wall. They do provide railing mounts for stair banisters.
