Once the plastic is punctured the topper expands fairly rapidly. In about an hour it was full size. The topper is a bit larger than my queen mattress, but not overly so. There are straps in each corner to keep it from sliding around. They easily slipped out but I decided to run them beneath the bed frame and now they stay in place. My new best friend! I used to spend so much money on very expensive mattresses – none of which ever made me as happy as purchasing a firm mattress and buying this 3 inch topper. The topper makes you feel like you are sleeping on the most luxurious bed - the best nice rest I’ve ever had. I have one of these on each of the beds in my house - they are amazing! As you can see in the picture, it becomes rolled up in a box inside plastic. Once you cut the plastic, it takes a few hours to fully expand.
