They provide good support and make it much easier to get in and out of the chair. I'm very pleased with my purchase. The table and chairs look great in my backyard and the quality is just what I expected as I have other Polywood products. The only 'negative' thing i would say is that the chairs aren't very comfortable so I will be buying some cushions.Other than that, the product was delivered a day early than the original delivery date and no problems with missing pieces. I was excited to see that the chairs were already together so all I had to do is put the arms on and all I had to do with the table is put the legs on. I put the chairs together first and I will admit it is a little tedious but all you needed was an Allen wrench which was included. I do wish I had put the table together first as that tool kit included a T-grip Allen wrench which sped up the process.
