Penetrating Stone Sealer

The Armor WL550 is a penetrating, matte wet look water repellent sealer. It penetrates deep into the substrate where it chemically reacts to form a hydrophobic barrier within the pores that reduces surface water absorption. It will darken the surface to slightly enhance any dull and faded coloring. The Armor WL550 is made from high-quality, non-recycled, US-manufactured resins. It is designed for unsealed concrete, brick, pavers, natural stone, and porous masonry. It works entirely below the surface and won’t leave a surface film. By reducing surface water absorption, cracking, spalling, pitting, mold, mildew, algae, staining, and other damage and deterioration caused by surface water absorption will also be reduced.

Used this WL550 sealer on a powerwashed 20+ year old patio. This product did a good job reviving some color without the fake looking shine of sealers with glossy finishes. I wouldn't call it a 100% "wet look' when done -- would have preferred a little darker -- but given the age of the patio, the results were pretty good. I used about 2 1/3 gallons to cover 365 sq ft using a pump sprayer. Product had a strong odor, but it dissipated soon after the job. I grouted for the first time ever using this grout and am delighted with the result. It was way easier than I expected. Here's my advice: watch the tile coach's video on this on you tube from 2025 and follow ALL of his direction in addition to reading. It's the absolute best and my process went exactly as he showed it. Definitely get mini's even if your project is bigger. It took me a full hour to apply this mini unit. I can't even imagine trying to do a full unit. The mini's in all the colors were hard for me to find. Wayfair was the ticket and shipped them really fast. Bought AX-25 to reseal my pool deck and lanai. This stamped concrete deck has to be resealed every 2-3 years. Used tint from another company (very good stuff). However, I decide to give Foundation Armor a try for sealing. I am very pleased and find this to give a better appearance than the sealant I used before from the tint provider. You will need a 2nd coat. It dries clear, but after 1st coat dried it lost a lot of it's gloss. GREAT customer service said I needed a 2nd coat and the gloss will return.That's what I am about to do.. Bruce. Wed Jul 05 2023
