The color of the serving dish is modern and true to the picture. It’s a nice, plastic serving platter. My only issue is that the attached gold colored rim has a very visible seam welded or glued together. I assumed the rim was smooth all the way around with no visible seams from the picture on line.. Ceramic Stoneware Serving Plate - SABLO designed by Frederike Martens, a German industrial designer with emphasis on glass and ceramics is the perfect way to present your signature dish. Frederike designed the SABLO line taking inspiration from the natural materials of sand, clay and water. The shapes are soft and inviting with pleasantly rounded edges and a slightly rough surface in some areas and glazed in others. SABLO stoneware is made from colored clay and a unique mix of quartz, minerals and oxide. Stoneware is defined as a group of ceramic products and is used to produce plates, dishes, cachepots and bowls, molded at very high temperatures using special casting techniques. The high temperature during the firing process ensure stoneware is more stable than clay and less translucent than porcelain. The colors, shapes, appearance of the glaze as well as the overall look depend on the firing temperature and time and may vary slightly from piece to piece - each piece is unique and may show individual structures and shades. The clay of SABLO is fired at a very high temperature, therefore doesn't require all over glazing. 

A perennial favorite, Shell Bisque distinguishes itself through its thin porcelain body. Soft, translucent glazes are applied by hand, leading to complementary hues where every piece has its unique shade. Compared to the polished pastel interior glazes, the exterior unglazed bisque finish has a grainy sandy eggshell texture. The high firing temperatures of these pieces make them strong and functional. Sustainable and stylish for any occasion.

I had some trouble actually getting these as there was some confusion as to delivery. I did finally receive them and they are quite nice. Pretty color and a nice weight.
