This commercial grade downlight is ideal for new construction when specified with a 4" x 2 1/8" square or octagonal J box. It is also conveniently UL Listed for wet conditions only indoor wet locations such as above a shower. For exterior they would need to be installed in damp location such as a covered porch, soffit, etc.. A place where the fixtures would not receive direct saturation.

Honestly I haven’t had the chance to install this yet but I have several friends that have used these before and it didn’t seem to be difficult. This 6 in. Sloped Ceiling Non-IC Recessed Housing with Quick Link Connector has several great installation features plus an Air-Tight rating. It is ideal for non-IC new construction applications. Its gasketed Air-Tight housing restricts airflow from conditioned spaces into unconditioned attic space, preventing unnecessary HVAC costs and improving the overall home energy efficiency. This 12-pack of 14 watt 7” LED 5CCT Selectable Disc Lights features a versatile design in a white aluminum trim, suitable for damp locations and that fit standard 3.5" and 4" J-Boxes, allowing for an easy and quick installation for both remodels and new construction and allowing users and installers to choose the tone of white light they desire before installation.

Unfortunately, these lights don’t work in my house. They are made for new construction and in order to make them work in an older house. You have to retrofit the light fixture, which would cost more money than it’s worth. They are not made to go right into an existing light fixture. You will need to order the springs from the company for them to work unless you have newer construction they won’t work. That being said, they seem like good quality. Found the perfect installation product! I was looking to make an old fixture smart automated and this SkyPlug canopy kit allowed me do just that. The company has a SkyHome app that controls my light and best part was how easy it was to install the plug and canopy onto my fixture. After installing the outlet and plugging in my Eurofase fixture I realized how dirty the glass was. The Skyplug allowed me the ease of unplugging and cleaning my glass fixture on the ground and then quickly plugging it back into the ceiling. Where has this amazing invention been? You can use it with almost any hanging light! I think I might just install these in the whole house.
