This is an excellent workbench. The bench top is indeed solid oak, 1" thick (smaller pieces glued together). The dimensions are a true 48" x 24". It has a very nice smooth feel, with no odor. The product is made of rubberwood with four metal pillars. It comes with four wooden pillars, three drawers on the left side (with metal slides) for smooth sliding without sticking, and one cabinet on the right side (side-opening door) with adjustable handles on both sides and rubber covers on both ends. The inside of the product features metal guide pipes.

The bench is sturdy, the instructions are poor at best, but I figured it out. Fedex beat it up a bit, split a lower side support. I cut down a 2x4 and made it work.
