The Ashley Hearth Products AW1120E-P is a beautiful air-tight plate steel wood-burning stove with nickel-pewter trim that accents a charcoal black finish. The AW1120E-P wood stove meets the stringent requirements of the EPA "Step 2" 2020 Certification Guidelines. This wood stove has 68,000 BTUs that can heat up to 1,200 square feet. The Ashley AW1120E-P burns logs up to 18" in length while the pedestal base provides an elegant touch to any room. Here's how it works: the primary air inlet at the front of the stove ignites the wood upon start-up. Once burning, the secondary air inlet at the rear of the firebox feeds air to the top of the stove through three (3) ignition tubes directly above the wood. The result is that you have ignition, or fire, at the bottom and at the top of the wood stove which, in effect, consumes the wood. This is a very efficient method of getting the most energy possible out of the wood that you are burning. First, I have an arched fireplace opening, and I was told that these doors would not fit on it. After taking extensive measurements and figuring out all the angles and opening sizes, I was confident this would fit. The package came in great shape, and all the parts, nuts, bolts, and accessories were in the box. The doors fit into the opening, and the arch was covered, which was a great relief. Using the brackets provided, and because of the arch, I decided to drill holes with my rotary hammer and screw the door brackets into the masonry brick. Everything fit perfect and the doors were secured in place. I added the screens, and the job was done. For a square fireplace, I would highly recommend these doors. The glass doors can help you save energy year-round – when closed, they prevent ac and heat loss through the chimney by up to 90%. The hidden damper knob at the bottom of the firescreen provides additional airflow to feed the fire for bigger, longer-lasting flames. Filter life will vary depending upon the type of ash and how much ash is being vacuumed. When the filter is dirty, just shake it off or hand wash it gently and air dry. Eventually the filter will need replacing: if you see holes in the filter or ash coming out of the vacuum, it's time for a replacement.
