perfect place set for smaller spaces! it took about two days to put it together at a very leisurely pace. I would say it would probably take about 8 to 10 hours to do it all in one go. I was able to put it together myself, with the exception of one step. there are a total of 35 steps. All of the wood and the hardware is clearly marked and labeled. The hardware is packaged in individual bags for every step and it comes with a big bag of spare parts. The wood seems to be of good quality. I didn’t see any cracks or splits in any of the wood. I would say at the end of every season it probably would be a good idea to seal the wood so that it lasts longer. the price was very fair compared to similar playsets. We bought this for our 6 year old and she loves it. My husband and I (well, mostly him) put it together ourselves and while it took quite a while (because there's like 8000 pieces to it), the instructions were surprisingly clear. Some of the wood was warped and didn't fit together very we, but with a few tweaks we got it to work. Make sure there's a strong person available on delivery day because the driver needed my husband's help to get it off the truck. No way I would have been able to move those boxes. My 2.5 year old loves it. Every morning he is on it and when he gets home. Assembling it wasn’t straight forward, manual is not easy to read and I read plenty of them.
