This was a breeze to apply. Simply shook the container to mix the contents and then applied with a paint roller. Avoided work during direct sunlight hours. Re-applied until the container was empty. The door most certainly is not pre-hung and requires these casing pieces as a separate purchase to complete installation. It would be practically impossible to fabricate your own casing since the finish on the door and trim is a sort of rubbery veneer and the frame is slotted to accept this product specifically. So just know the door will be a couple hundred dollars more and be a timely installation when compared to a real pre-hung door. I am happy enough with the installed result to give it 4 stars though.. This product is harder to find, it did come in dirty so had to hand clean each unit, 3 out of the 50 units per defective and the magnet that came with the product is not retail user friendly. I had a spare one with handle and it worked so much better. The basic brick style magnet took some play to get unit to unlock. It does the trick but overall quality not as good as I expected.
