These lights are great. I was able to install them myself and I am not an electrician (although a very capable DIYer). The box sits perfectly inside the ceiling and the switch to adjust the light temperature is on the side facing the hole so you don't have to keep pulling it out to adjust. The lights are wafer thin and the clips are easy enough to manage. The lights wont be fully installed for a while yet but I am pleased with their overall desighn and condtruction. THey will hold up well to outdoor conditions. There is a swith on the junction box that will change the lighting effect as desired. Lastly - the description, and even instructions, specify a 2 7/8" hole saw cut needed for installation. THis is not a readily avaiable hole sixe to find, but on further isnpection, a hole saw of 2 5/8" is sufficient and will do the job just as good if not better providing a hole with less slop for the fixture to move within.. I found these lights to fit an awkward previous gambel light hole. This worked fine and the lights are as communicated. However, these lights are clearly a return which was never inspected, wires from the previous attempted install were simply cut 3 above the lights wiring connection. Additionally one light did not arrive with a junction box cover which would not meet code for installation. Please be better Wayfair and take accountability for returns in less than new condition.. I ordered a large number of these fixtures to replace old bulb based fixtures in my house. These look good and work well, if you can get them installed. Unfortunately, the retention springs that are used to hold the light in place within the can are way too stiff. When trying to bend them to position in the clips within the can, the springs snap in half, rendering the light useless, because you can no longer get them installed properly. I have had at least 6 of them snap their spring. Wayfair was nice enough to send out replacements, but I would be very hesitant of buying these. If you do, make sure to wear goggles when installing, because when those springs snap, it can be dangerous with how much tension is on the spring and your face will probably be right next to them.. We purchased two of these pendants to hang on each side of our king bed in the master bedroom. They look absolutely beautiful and really brought the room to life. The room looks so upscale and I we get more usable space on each nightstand. We had the pendants professionally installed by an electrician on a dimmer switch and also purchased the soft white lightbulbs with the visible coil (like Wayfair has pictured in the lamp) - purchased them at HD. The dimmer switch made all the difference. We purchased them in Matte Black with the Smoke colored glass.
