I love, love, love this dish set. The stoneware is high quality. The coating on them almost seems like porcelain but with the sturdy weight of stoneware. The ribbed texture and two toned design are my favorite thing. It makes the dishes look very modern and distinct. The high ridges on the plates are great for saucy foods and for stacking them in the cupboard. The mugs are also a great size. This is a set that I highly recommend! Very happy with these plates. I wasn't sure from the photo if the sides of the plate were perfectly round or a bit more hand-crafted, but I was pleased to see they're more artisan, hand-crafted - although you can still stack them. 10" is definitely big enough for a dinner plate and they have some depth to them, which is very nice. These are very pretty plates. They arrived packaged extremely well. I really like the lip around the plate in theory, but the squareish shape of it makes it difficult to grab off a stack of dishes. I store them standing up so no worries. I took off one star because I didn't think the description made it clear there was a brown rim on the bottom.
