This is an expensive investment but after all the research (Reddit was the best source) I wanted guaranteed reliability and longevity. I measured my old large pot and this one correlated close. I personally think the largest size, the 8.9 would be too big for my daily use. Love this and love the wood board that comes with it. My counter tops can't take extreme heat like a dutch oven. This is a really beautiful dutch oven. Love the leaf motif on the top. It is not just a functional piece of equipment in my kitchen. It is part of the decor. It lives permanently on my stove and contains all my microwave plate covers and silicone. The piece is beautiful but it took forever to get. I tried to cancel the order because of a change of address - thought it was cancelled and three weeks later it showed up at my home. Turns out the fulfillment center DECLINED my cancel with no explanation. The first person I spoke with at Perigold was fine, just repeating what her script said. I asked for a manager - explained the situation and he adjusted the pricing for me.
