Got this for my husbands sunroom office. The fabric is soft and smooth, although it’s a faux leather it feels like a microsuede. The black is a matte mid black/dark grey versus a dark black. Ordered two in the 36"x24" size for my kids in 5th and 9th grades for their distance/virtual learning. The height goes from 26"-44". We have the desks sitting at the lowest 26" height, which fits my kids perfectly. They love their desks. The footrest allows them to swing their feet and helps with their postures.
