Just used it today where the outside temp was +33 C/91.4 F and it held firm at 2 C/ 35.6 F. This was both on the battery and auto 12v outlet. Imagine having a car parked in the sun to go back and start up the vehicle and have no worries. The battery had 90% left after about 45 mins but recharged very quickly when the vehicle was started.. We took a road trip from PA to SC last week, and I followed the pre chilling suggestions (set both sections to -4° for a minimum of 3-4 hours before filling) from the reviews.. I adjusted one section to 34° after I filled the refrigerated food while leaving the the frozen food set to -4°. I did add a few freezer blocks to the tops of both sections before we closed the lids. On the trip down we stayed overnight in a hotel halfway to SC.. To my delight our food was in perfect condition when we unpacked it!! Love this cooler/refrigerator! I have a larger version that takes up practically all the space in my car, which isn't ideal for camping. This is much more compact, yet still holds plenty. I actually took it camping for the first time last weekend and it worked great. You can keep it plugged into the car when you drive, and then switch to regular power at the site.
