The hinges themselves were easy to install (you don't need to be especially handy ... good beginner project!), and they securely hold the gate. It has a nice, smooth movement. The downside is that because the gate is old, it takes away from the fresh new hardware! I'm going to be replacing the gate now too, so it can fit with the more elegant look of the replacement hardware!
