I add milk, preserves and soft ice cream scoops with a spoon and it won't blend that. I have followed smoothie recipe making sure to add ingredients in order and it jams up. The base only holds charge for 4 blends so keep the cable close. There is absolutely no way this will blend ice unless the ice is thawed (water). Just what I needed at an amazing price. I had to find a small model that could do both because I lack counter and cabinet space. I use this daily and it sits on my counter. The food processor fits quite a bit of food (4 cups)and also come with a shredder/slicer which is a bonus. The blender is full size. My first Cuisinart was a wedding gift and lasted over 25 years. I took a long time to do this review because I wanted to actually make baby food in it for my grandson, and he just started solids! The steamer works great, cooked perfectly. I had my butternut squash in one inch cubes before I read the instructions, so I had to cut them down to 1cm per instructions. That was a bummer. I almost took a star away for that, but the blending was so smooth and effortless that I actually love this little thing and give it 5 stars. Can’t wait to make more food for my grandson. As mentioned by another reviewer, there are not bottle warning instructions. I would put the bottle in the steamer basket and check it after a few minutes.
