The rug is a pretty, neutral BEIGE, despite what some of the photos look like. Ours came with a little defect one of the white rectangles is missing. I bought two of these rugs after looking for some time. I have used them on my covered porch for two spring /summer seasons. I am very happy with the durability and it is lovely. Would definitely order again and again. The colour is neutral and gives a "jute rug" vibe however the rug is soft (flat pile). I have not experienced any issues with the threads or staining. It has been wet and dries fairly quickly. Not certain I would install in areas that are not protected as it is not on the cheaper side and would be concerned the elements may damage it. This rug is so pretty! Its also very soft. It looks like the picture minus the silver sheen you see on the rug depending on your angle, but it will be less or more sheen depending on the traffic and fabric fibers moving. When you are standing directly on the rug the sheen is harder to see. The rug gives a distressed, faded look so that may be why some will feel it doesnt look like the picture. The video on here is correct in showing that the rug has a lighter side and darker side depending on your angle but it doesnt take away from the design of there rug.
