This pair of nutcrackers is really beautiful and good quality and substantial weight not flimsy at all… I really love them, but I noticed there was only one review when I placed my order and that review said they were beautiful, but arrived broken… One of mine also arrived with a minor breakage… It’s minor enough that I can repair it myself, but I feel that the company needs to package them differently… They are packed in good shipping boxes and Styrofoam forms to keep them from moving, but I think they need an outer layer to prevent breakage… I plan to keep them and they are exactly what I hoped they would be ..if I could change one thing I just wish that they were larger than they are, but they meet the specifications mentioned. Overall, these are working well. I have had them over a week with no problems. The sensor works well to detect the light outside. I do wish the bottom were weighted more. The base is exactly the same as some of the battery-opp ones for $1-2 at other stores. So, I wouldn't say they are a great value, but they work a lot better than the battery ones, which don't seem to last long before the battery dies, plus the added bonus that you don't have to manually turn them on and off twice a day..
