The fabulous Hotel California is now available as the third in our line of Purple Martin birdhouses. This ten-room, fully functional birdhouse is inspired by the main pavilion of the iconic Del Coronado Hotel. A San Diego landmark, the'' Del'' has welcomed presidents, royalty, and Hollywood celebrities for over 100 years. Home Bazaar's dramatic Victorian design with its signature red roof and peek-a-boo dormers is topped off with a cupola proudly flying an American flag. This house comes equipped with a mounting base with a sleeve for setting on top of a standard 4 x 4 base. In order to attract purple martins, the recommended location of this house should be a combination of open fields and water. The house should be 12 to 14 feet high. For display purposes only, Home Bazaar recommends the column pedestal (HB-2008P.)

This dwelling features slip-resistant floors, convenient landing, and take-off rails on each floor, and swing-up doors for easy cleaning. Each of the twelve rooms measures a comfortable 6" x 6" x 6" for the nesting Martin families, but if you'd like larger compartments and fewer families, you can easily adjust the inner compartments to 6" x 6" x 12" in order to create six nesting sites. Ventilated door panels provide maximum comfort, and the crescent-shaped starling-resistant entrances deter pest birds looking to usurp your rightful Martin tenants. For even more versatility, plug the crescent holes and punch out the round entry hole on each apartment. Overhangs, gutters, and rails also help protect martins and their eggs. Mount this home high on the S&K Telescoping Aluminum Pole or use the S&K Pole Adapter to mount it on an existing 1.25" diameter round pole (not included). The chapel birdhouse is inspired by the traditional gothic arches of European churches, this birdhouse has 1 ½” detailed entry holes for 6 nesting areas. These nesting areas are divided into approximately 3.5” x 3.5” areas and the divider can be removed for cleaning. The chapel birdhouse platform has drain holes on all four corners and the roof is removable for easy access and maintenance. The house also is vented near the roofline while still protecting the nesting cavities from the elements. The chapel birdhouse is constructed from PVC to last for many years of enjoyment without having to worry about rotting or cracking.
