This 17004 is an aluminum 6-inch shallow new construction housing designed for 6-inch led recessed downlights, led retrofits, and traditional trims of all sorts. It’s suitable for residential and commercial applications and features integral thermal guards that protect against overheating (usually due to using an incorrect wattage or bulb). The 17004 adjusts from 0.5 to 1.5 inches to accommodate ceiling drywall thickness. The 5.75-inch housing height allows it to be used in a 2 x 6-inch joist construction.
