This is the perfect slow cooker for dips. It's been hard to find the right size with a high cook setting. The 1/2 and 2/3 quart cookers are marketed for dips but if you're actually making the dip from scratch then you need a little more room to fit all the ingredients before they cook down. Also, those sizes are basically just warmers because they don't have a high cook setting. The quality is fantastic. The temperature control is labeled well and easy to use. For safety's sake, a red light illuminates while in use and the handles stay cool to the touch. The lid is great. It's clear glass and has a vent hole. I love that I can see how everything is coming together without having to lift the lid and let all the heat escape. I've only had mine for a month so I can't really vouch for durability but I do attest that mine still looks and works like brand new. I highly recommend this Nesco slow cooker.
