This gazebo is fantastic. It took my husband and a friend about 5 days to put it together. They worked about 5 hours every and the last day was just getting the fit on the patio and drilling the holes into the concrete to get it set and then hanging the screens and curtains. They did a great job and my husband followed the instructions fairly easy, as he was in construction and used to reading drawings, so it wasn't hard for him. Everything went together as it should have. I think one screw hole was out of alignment, so he made a new one. Other than that he had no problems putting it together. We love the size of it, its double of what one gazebo normally is. Gives us plenty of space for furniture and a fire table, and still room to add an eating table which I have not purchased yet. We love its wind resistance too. We get some crazy winds in the desert, sometimes 60+ mph, and we've since had just a couple days like that, and we have found it to hold up just great! You do hear a little rattle with that kind of wind, but not much. Its solidly in the ground and the parts are solid, holding together well. Can't beat this gazebo for its sturdiness and beauty. Function is awesome and I know in the summer we'll be able to close the curtains when the sun starts beating in any direction, and screens if the flies show up while eating. The 13'x13' wood gazebo is constructed with a premium spruce wood frame, which is stronger and more stable than regular wood's, with upgraded pit wind performance for an additional 5-10 years of life. Metal gazebo roofs are protected by a high-performance coating that resists fading and UV exposure. Galvanized double-layered roof maintains ventilation. First the good. The Gazebo looks amazing and, for the most part, was easy to assemble. We have a circular shaped patio which made it a small challenge to find a shade structure to cover most of the area as efficiently as possible. A rectangular structure that fit on the patio space would not have covered the space great, a rectangular or square structure would have had to be larger than the patio space requiring some digging to secure the system. The Octagonal design and size of the octagon fits almost perfectly onto the space. Assembly was very easy, fortunately I had a hex bit that fit the screws used for the assembly which saved my wrists from the stress of using the provided allan key. Only two hangups with the assembly, one, the metal roof has a layer of shipping film on both sides which took a few hours to remove from all of the pieces, definitely slowed moment. The second issue is the installation of the brackets that secure the roof could have been more clear, it took some time to get everything aligned so the caps could be installed. Some patience is needed for this portion. Only a couple of issues that prevent the 5 star. One, the unit is not very tall, when fully assembled the entry height is only 76" which we were aware of thanks to the drawings in the listing. I solved this by mounting the gazebo to some blocks that raised the height to better align with the patio steps. The other issue is with one of the pieces, it had a split running almost the entire length of the board and, in sections, appeared on both sides of the piece. I did reach out to the email listed in the instructions, they offered a discount on my total purchase, which I accepted. If I need to, replacing the board wouldn't be an issue for me so I accepted the discount, a replacement piece was not offered. In summary, we are very happy with the unit. It provides much needed shade for a space that receives significant sun from noon until 5PM in the summer. It’s a beautiful gazebo once it’s set up. Our family friend who’s a contractor put it up for us in a day. It’s solid and mounted to our wood deck. The curtains are an added bonus although they occasionally loosen after tying. There’s an indie hook at the top of the ceiling that can be used to hang a light fixture. Theirs is also a zippered area at the top of the ceiling designed to keep debris on the roof from falling below on the inside of the gazebo. We also strung lights on the inside. This is a beautiful gazebo. The instructions are in pictures so if you need words for direction you are out of luck. It took my husband and I a total of 24 hours to put it together and he is a mechanic. The total time was partially because of our unusual placement in which the gazebo extends further than our patio space. Also, we secured the front posts in an unconventional manner by placing them in large pots which were then filled with heavy materials. There are what seems like millions of screws and other pieces. There were quite a few "disagreements" while assembling this item which was entertaining for the neighbors. We both agreed that if anyone ever asks us to help them build a gazebo we will politely decline. All parts were present but we made sure of this prior to starting the build. There were a few times that we could have used the help of another person when building the frame but stepladders helped immensely. Took one person 3 days to put up. Very easy with the instructions. Looks great. Very solid. Will buy curtains to block out sunweather. After weeks of debating on which one to purchase, I believe I made the best decision. Can’t be happier. The only con was shipping.
