We experimented with the heat and cook time to find the best temp to get the bottom crust cooked without burning the edges. Initially burn in is crucial it smoked for a good 45 minutes. Let it cool then cooked 4 pies. Works excellent the stone got to 670 degrees. I am going to follow advice from other reviews and add a second pizza stone on bottom to shield it a bit and even out the cooking.
