Installation was a bit tricky as this was the first custom shower drain I have installed but I was able to figure it out. Once installed this drain is awesome. The large water collection area prevents any kind of pooling and has a luxurious feel about it. We had this system installed in our remodeled bathroom in September 2023. For the most part, it has worked beautifully and we've been ecstatic with it. However, it is not without issues. It has to be re-paired with Amazon Alexa every 3 months, unlike every other Alexa skill out there. Why? Who knows. Because Kohler says so, I guess. Lately it has been needing to be re-paired every 2 weeks (today was the 3rd time). Also today it said there's a firmware update, but when I go to update I get a message that the shower is offline and I need to check the wifi connection. How? There's no wifi settings on the shower setup or in the app, or in my Kohler account anywhere. There is an Advanced/Locked section of settings that requires a PIN on the in-shower control and I have no idea what the PIN is or how to find it; we didn't set it and we can't get into these settings. Wish I could have installed this myself, but alas, I watched from the sidelines as my tiler and plumber experts worked in tandem over a few days with the drain and eventually the final product/install. Trying to stay out of the expert’s way, I can now truly appreciate this upgraded elegant look. This was certainly an upgrade from our “plain drain” that we had lived with since we bought our house. This RainDrain easily captures the flow of water but also easily captures my spouse’s long strands of hair. It easily matched our other fixtures. I like that the rough in for my Saunders bathtub was listed on the same webpage. It allowed me to purchase everything my plumber needed for installation.
