“Modern luxury” is absolutely correct. It is beautiful. Everyone who comes into my office compliments it. They usually come up and run their hand over the top, it looks and feels wonderful. This desk is very solid and heavy. It assembled relatively easily. The drawers came assembled which is great. The only difficulty in assembly was aligning holes that cannot be seen easily. One very nice feature that was not explained in the description is that the drawers and slanted leg can be reversed so you can orient the slanted leg on either side of that matters in your particular set up.. perfect for my space and easy to assemble. As mentioned in another review, the hooks for both ends of the desk have two small holes with tiny screws.
