i have both the 25 qt and the 52 Qt BMX caolers. Their rotomold design allows you upgrade them to the performance level of the much more expensive yeti and Rtic brand coolers. Common to both of those manufacturers , the BMX coolers incorporate a molded lip along the edge on the underside of the lid ,which when closed, fits into a channel that runs along the top of the cooler walls.By adding adhesive backed 1/4 inch rubber weatherstrip "D" ( Inserted into the channel) you increase the ice retention to match that of the Yeti and RTIC product, as that rubber weather stripping is really the only functional element that distinguishes the 3 brands.. It allowed me to organize which drinks were kid friendly and which were not. The design is modern and it was very easy to assemble. My only critique is everyone who approached this initially was confused on how to open it (center front there are two indentations near the middle for your fingers to lift the top covers) and kept ripping the front bar off. We took a road trip from PA to SC last week, and I followed the pre chilling suggestions (set both sections to -4° for a minimum of 3-4 hours before filling) from the reviews.. I adjusted one section to 34° after I filled the refrigerated food while leaving the the frozen food set to -4°. I did add a few freezer blocks to the tops of both sections before we closed the lids. On the trip down we stayed overnight in a hotel halfway to SC.. To my delight our food was in perfect condition when we unpacked it!!
