This is the quietest range hood I have ever used with an unique design. The installation is straight forward for most with video tutorial online that's readily available. I went with a professional installation. This range hood is rated at 1100cfm and the unique design has worked very well. My home no longer smells even when I deep fry. I did two modifications for my installation. I went with a Zephyr 6"-8" duct increaser. The reason I did this is because the range hood is rated over 1000cfm. This might not be necessary but it's a choice I made for myself because of the rated CFM. My installation required a 4" spacer piece. I used 6" 10-32 fine thread screws to secure my upper cabinet to the range hood to make up the 4" spacer difference. This is not necessary according to Fotile but I went the extra mile for $13 more in screws, bolts, and washers. So far I am very satisfied with how quiet and powerful it is. The power on the Fotile range hood is excellent. For most cooking, I stay on the first 2 out of 3 fan settings. For high smoke activities such as seasoning a wok or searing steak, the 3rd settings is more than enough to suck up all the fumes. The fan speeds are all pretty quiet. We really like the way it cooks salmon fillets using the Speed Cook technology -- a combination of upper halogen element, the lower element, convection and microwave. Pretty amazing. The nice exterior design looks good in our kitchen, right above a conventional Cafe wall oven. We purchased this oven to replace our previous (almost identical) 240V Advantium Custom Speed Cook oven. We appreciate most of the subtle display firmware/software improvements in the new VS1 design compared with the older NS1 model, which we replaced due to odd rebooting every few weeks. We loved the older model (other than the reboots) and appreciate the new one even more, except for the relatively loud alert sound when we open the door to check the temperature of something we are cooking.
