Finally, it arrived and it was folded in small folds, once I laid it straight the rug is full of lines. After looking closer the rug also had several threads pulled. These are great! They don't appear like brass, they're more like a gold finish sort of brushed gold look. I have solid brass lamps and those are shiny and more of a coppery gold color as brass usually looks, and these are more like a champagne-brushed gold finish. I have them in the same room as the solid brass lamps and they look great! I love the bobbled base, which makes it look very fancy, especially at Christmas time. You will not regret this purchase. The shades that come with the product, you have to assemble. The fabric part snaps onto a white metal frame. The one thing that I wish was different is that maybe the lampshade be a little bit taller, as you can see the very top of the light bulb. I remedied this by placing the lamp on top of a book so that when I walked into the room I couldn't see the top of the lightbulb and the white wire frames of the lampshade.
